Flute Making Career

I first began making fifes over 30 years ago apprenticing at the Healy Fife Company. We eventually began making flutes and I ended working there for over 20 years. When the company moved overseas, I was left with skills but no place to practice them. So I started doing repairs and restorations. Working on old instruments gave me a great deal of knowledge on the intricacy of flute making and the different ways makers built their flutes. From there it was time for me to start making my own.
